Terry Graham was boots on the ground during L.A.’s original punk rock explosion. He was part of the scene from its opening salvo in 1977 to its flame out (more or less) in 1980. During that time he was drummer for The Bags from ’78 through ’79. In 1981, he joined Gun Club and played through the post-punk years across America, Canada and Europe and recorded three albums with the band. He was also recorded five tracks with the Cramps and performed with them twice in 1983. He played short stints in numerous other bands in Los Angeles and eventually in Dallas (The Blue Flames) before hanging up the sticks. Terry authored a book called Punk Like Me, 1977 – 1985, released in 2018.
PHILOSOPHY
American roots music in all its forms (blues, C&W, R&B, rock-n-roll, etc) forms a strong foundation for what I played as a drummer and grew up hearing in Texas. Fortunately, there’s a lot of it, and I’m continually discovering great tracks from the past that I love to share. However, I’m not a purist or “obscurist.” A good song is a good song whether popular or hidden in the weeds. For that reason, I play what I genuinely enjoy hearing. A lot of great songs don’t fit any particular genre and I certainly won’t be ignoring those gems, either.

MAXIMUM PLEASURE
Sharing stories.
WHEN NOT DJING
Hosting my video podcast, Electric Angel Lounge on YouTube. Otherwise, absorbed in national and international news, diving into conspiracy rabbit holes, reading non-fiction books on all subjects, scanning the skies for UFOs, salivating over when I’ll next get to eat New Mexican green Chile and Tex-Mex.
SECRET SUPERPOWER
Making people laugh.
