Warmest felicitations on the marriage, pamanni. Vegas folklore has it that having the King officiate at one's nuptials is a very auspicious development, one that augurs many years of wedded felicity, and a bevy of cheerful, healthy, apple-cheeked, musical children with strange tastes in sandwiches. Congratulations, and many happy returns.
The Engrish site is such a guilty pleasure! While the results of their attempts to write in English are sometime hilarious, I do feel a bit guilty about making fun of them. English is among the most difficult languages in the world to master (even for native speakers!). I applaud their valiant attempts at our language. I for one know that I would never attempt to write a public sign in Japanese. I'm sure that some of our words mean something vulgar or funny in their language (I seem to remember a particular snafu with the word "Chachi"!). I still get a kick out Kaka Crackers though!
Over on the Engrish boards, we have spoken about whether it is mocking, or more of a treibute. Considering that the Moderator is very firm that the standard - and racist really - letter-L/letter-R substitutions are not acceptable, to myself and to the others who(m) have posted there for months and seen lots of changes in the development of the engrish and the people who speak it... well, type it... at its best it is not mocking and there's no guilt that accompanies it. We still hope that some speaker of Japanese will come back and kick the ass of AmeriKKKans who butcher Japanese... but wait! AmeriKKKAns don't even bother to learn the language of their future masters!
