Tiffany Anders - Listen! Listen!
Tuesdays - 2 - 4 PM PT
Tiffany Anders started her recording career at the tender age of five singing and snickering on the Los Angeles based art new wave band Monitor’s first release, (which also features the Meat Puppets first ever recording and has reached cult status today). It would be a little while before she would record again, doing background vocals at the age of 17 for Dinosaur Jr., on their break out album “Where you Been? And then later contributing vocals for Mike Watt, The Lemonheads and Mike Johnson. She started playing guitar at age 14, and formed her first “real” band at age 19 called “Hot White Noon”. Unfortunately, Hot White Noon only recorded one seven inch before disbanding. Tiffany continued to work hard writing new material for her solo debut E.P. "Running From No Place To Nowhere".
Shortly after the release of the E.P., Anders moved to New York City where she had a chance encounter with legendary female rocker PJ Harvey on a New York City street just minutes after Anders had finished recording a few demos which she had on hand. She passed them onto Harvey whom liked the material so much that she offered to lend a hand on the album. This eventually led to Harvey’s first role as producer other than on her own material. In addition to producing the album Harvey can be found playing on it along with Anders’ long time friend and collaborator J Mascis.
