Tradition-Breaking 'Atomic Cocktail' Thursday, June 18!

In a precedent-shattering break with recent tradition, Atomic Cocktail host Vic Tripp has announced that "The next Atomic Cocktail will definitely not be another theme show!" Following the well-received June 4 'Summer '09 Kick-off' and June 11's 'The Electric Show' (a musical salute to the 1752 discovery of electricity), June 18 will present a general-interest edition of Atomic Cocktail. Featured artists will include the Andy Paley Orchestra, Gallic thrush Jacqueline Taibe, soul balladeer Roy Hamilton and protest duo the Changin' Times. "We were considering doing theme shows celebrating the anniversaries of the testing of the first rocket-plane to use liquid propellants [June 20, 1939] and the invention of the doughnut [June 22, 1847], " says Tripp, "but in the end they just seemed like too much work." Despite the trend-bucking June 18 show, the July 2 edition of the show will be the annual 'Pre-Independence Day Cocktail Cook-out," which will highlight American-themed music.
